Checking in.

It’s a crazy time for me, and as I think about you all wondering why I haven’t posted something by now, I realize that I’ve been remiss.
I’m writing now from San Diego where I will be giving a keynote speech in a few hours, having flow in yesterday. I’m headed back to Washington tomorrow and then am on to Boston on Sunday, then back for awhile before heading to Atlanta and then Kansas City.
In the middle of all this is real life, lots of work, and some of the most important client work I’ve done in my professional life. There have been many 18 hour days as of late and not much stress-free time.
That’s one of the reasons that I brought my pipes with me and why I’ve spent the little free time I’ve had on the balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean smoking one of my new favorite pipes, the Adam Davidson prince you see at the top of the post. There is nothing but nothing but nothing like a pipe to ground me, to settle me down, and to help me remember that life is supposed to saunter a bit and not dash around constantly.
Greg Pease sent me a fantastic post this morning from the Briar Leaf Chronicles. You want something of substance that is true and real and honest? Read it. Greg is interesting cat in that he’s one of the few people I know in business who puts integrity ahead of making money. It’s why I trust him and trust his blends.
Smokingpipes has started a blog on their site that will be the voice of the company. It will be written from a variety of vantage points. Early posts look promising. Check it out. It’s always great to see some new thought leadership emerging.
I’ve got to get back to it. So, bye for now.
